Rita O’Connor/ Media & Traffic Coordinator
Tell us something people may not know about working in media.
One of the amazing things about today’s digital media is how incredibly trackable it is. Every online action you take is tracked. While it may seem creepy, it allows us to manage and report how successful – or not – a digital campaign is. If it’s not performing well, we can pull it or change up the creative to ensure better results. Have you ever searched for shoes or a vacation online only to see a banner ad for a great pair or resort appear while you’re on Facebook? Coincidence? I think not!
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
I would have to say keeping on top of all new digital media opportunities. Technology is moving so rapidly. In order to keep our clients’ advertising current and on trend, we must learn about and implement this medium just as quickly.
Name a talent you have that most people don’t know about.
Rollerskating. Especially back in the days of roller disco.
What is your favorite memory from your childhood?
That would be making pizza from scratch with my Nana. We would check on the dough every couple of hours to see if it had risen enough. And when she said it was ready, I was so excited! I’d get my hands full of olive oil, start kneading the dough and make the most delicious pizza. I can still remember the yummy smell!
What’s the most memorable vacation you’ve taken?
Montauk, Montauk, Montauk! I have been to other nice places but the most memorable vacations have been in Montauk. I’ve vacationed there at all stages of my life: Single, married, and married with children. Nothing better to me than relaxing on the beach during the day, and bonfires on the beach at night!
What is your favorite drink?
A margaRITA of course!
