Q&A with Sandra Drucker

Chief Financial Officer

What do you like most about working at Austin & Williams?

I love the sense of empowerment that allows me to develop creative solutions. I also enjoy opportunities to be a problem solver.

Who has had the most influence in your life?

Dr. Haim Ginott. He was a teacher, child psychologist and psychotherapist who wrote the book “Between Parent & Child.” When my daughter was three years old, I attended a parenting workshop presented by one of his disciples (since he died in 1973 at the age of 51). I remember it as a life-defining experience.

What do you like to do the most when you’re not working?

I enjoy physical activities such as tennis (which I play weekly), walking and dancing – both social and ballroom dancing and belly dancing (but we won’t tell anyone). I also enjoy going to the Broadway Theater and attending opera (Metropolitan Opera Company and New York City Opera Company).

What would you do if you won $1 million in the lottery?

I would get a box seat at the Met (no, not Citi Field – just the Metropolitan Opera House)… and a tattoo.

What are your favorite websites?

I love the AMC Mad Men website. I can’t believe that I would follow a “TV” website – but I find the show so compelling.

What was the first record you ever owned?

“How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?”. I remember being in kindergarten and “performing” it on stage at a school assembly.
