Q&A with Rita OConnor

Media Coordinator

Tell us something people may not know about working in media.

We are always working in the future. We know things before the general public does.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

I’d have to say meeting rush deadlines.

Name a talent you have that most people don’t know about.

Rollerskating. Especially back in the days of roller disco.

What is your favorite memory from your childhood?

That would be making pizza from scratch with my Nana. We would check on the dough every couple of hours to see if it had risen enough. And when she said it was ready, I was so excited! I’d get my hands full of olive oil, start kneading the dough and make the most delicious pizza. I can still remember the yummy smell!

What's the most memorable vacation you've taken?

Montauk, Montauk, Montauk! I have been to other nice places but the most memorable vacations have been in Montauk. I’ve vacationed there at all stages of my life: Single, married, and married with children. Nothing better to me than relaxing on the beach during the day, and bonfires on the beach at night!

What is your favorite drink?

A margaRITA of course!
