Q&A with Danielle Lombelino
Account Coordinator
Why did you decide to journey into the advertising business?
I previously worked at a public relations and integrated marketing firm where I was never involved in the design and media trafficking process. Most of the time, I only saw the finished product when it appeared in the publications. I was eager to learn what takes place before that. At A&W, I’m bridging the gap between fascinating creative and account management – in a big way.
What was your favorite course in school and why?
I loved "Marketing Communications in a Global Environment." We focused on different types of media and looked at successful advertising campaigns for each. We also watched DVD’s that detailed the strategies and work that went into successful campaigns, such as the ones developed for McDonald’s and the city of Las Vegas.
Is there anything about agency life that surprises you so far?
The biggest thing I’ve noticed is how everyone multitasks, working on various projects for each client and focusing on multiple clients at once. People are always running around, meeting deadlines, getting results – and having fun while getting the job done.
Describe your dream vacation.
Since I’ve never been out of the United States besides Canada, I’ve got a lot of places to pick from! The one spot I’ve always dreamed of is Australia. But I’d also like to see Europe, maybe Italy, Spain, and France. To relax, I’d choose an island… maybe Hawaii or Turks & Caicos. Just as long as it’s warm and rain-free: I went to Florida once for a week and it rained every single day!
What reality TV show will you admit to watching?
Unfortunately, I always get hung up on reality TV shows. I’m not sure if it’s because the people’s behavior is so outrageous or if I just feel sorry for them. I hate to admit it, but I’ve watched "The Jersey Shore." Each episode is nothing short of a comedy; it’s so hard to believe those are real people who think they’re the best looking things to hit planet Earth. Also, I love Steve Ward in "Tough Love" and "Tough Love Couples" because he hits the nail on the head with relationship advice!
What song makes you want to get up and dance?
Pretty much anything played on Party 105.3. But if I’d have to choose, I’d say "Sweet Disposition," the techno remix by The Temper Trap because it puts me in the best mood!
