Rick Chiorando Named to the Board of the Long Island Ad Club

July 27, 2007

Long Island, NY - Rick Chiorando, chief creative officer at Austin & Williams (Hauppauge, NY), a leading New York strategic advertising and marketing agency, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Long Island Ad Club (LIAC). LIAC is recognized as Long Island's largest and most celebrated advertising and marketing association, serving the industry for over five decades with top quality seminars, cutting-edge speaker forums and the "Best On Long Island" (BOLI) Awards, the region's most prestigious competition honoring Long Island's best creative work.

Mr. Chiorando brings to the LIAC Board an extensive and accomplished background within the advertising and marketing profession. Since joining Austin & Williams in 2001, he has been an integral part of the agency's steady growth and successful branding, direct marketing, new and traditional media campaigns across diverse industries. That success is evident in the agency's distinction as being one of Long Island's most award-winning agencies. This year-alone, Austin & Williams won a total of 43 LIAC awards including 8 "Best of Category" awards. 2007 also saw the agency win 16 awards in the 22nd Annual Admission Advertising Awards program sponsored by the HMR Publications Group.

Mr. Chiorando's career prior to joining Austin & Williams included two other executive positions at Long Island agencies: Vice President at Garvan Communications and Creative Director at Millennium. Additionally, he was Creative Director at Long Island University (LIU), responsible for the advertising and marketing of all LIU campuses located throughout New York State.

Along with his LIAC affiliation, Mr. Chiorando is a member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA), the national trade association of the advertising agency business.

Mr. Chiorando holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

An active member of the local community who supports many not-for-profit groups including local food banks and children's causes, he formerly coached his daughters' soccer teams, leading the Smithtown Kickers to a state championship.

He currently resides with his wife, Eva and their daughters, in Glen Cove, NY.

Based on Long Island, New York, Austin & Williams is a full-service marketing and advertising agency specializing in research-driven, results-oriented campaigns for clients in ultra-competitive environments such as health care, financial services, higher education and hospitality.
