Austin & Williams has won the Long Island Association's MVP Award (Most Valuable Player) in the small business category, the Hauppauge-based advertising agency announced today. Other MVP awards were given in banking, education, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, not-for-profit, professional services, real estate, technology and transportation.
According to Long Island Magazine editor Gary Wojtas, Austin & Williams, as well as 10 other LIA member businesses, earned this distinction based on the following criteria: "First, for an LIA member company to show growth/expansion/profitability in its business; and second, that the company and its employees have ‘given back' to the greater Long Island community."
Long Island Magazine cites A&W's many awards, growth despite the recession, charity work and the newly created Healthcare Alliance among the merits that earned the agency this distinction.
"Even in this tough economy, we've earned some impressive, unmatched results for our clients," A&W President and CEO Ken Greenberg told the magazine. "We're strategic. We do our homework and research to make sure we're on point, on message, and have the right targets in sight. We believe that every opportunity to brand is an opportunity to sell; every opportunity to sell is an opportunity to brand, and we put that philosophy to work for our clients' business. We're very excited to have been selected from all small businesses on Long Island for this award, and congratulate all of the other recipients."
