Really, how many fruit baskets do you need? We'd rather give Holiday gifts that give back, so we donate in our clients' names to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since 1980, this non-profit has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions by granting their most precious wishes.
This year, we helped send Juliana, a 7-year-old from Commack with Cystic Fibrosis to Disney World. An avid reader of "The Little Mermaid" and other princess classics, Juliana will get her wish and have lunch with Ariel and friends in (where else?) Cinderella's Castle. Last year, 6-year old Lexy really found out how to get to Sesame Street, thanks in part to A&W. The Dix Hills girl, who has Angelman Syndrome, attended a taping of the show and spent quality time with her favorite Sesame Street characters.
While making little ones' dreams come true, this annual Holiday tradition we started five years ago is making a big impression on our clients. We've received many heartfelt letters thanking us for remembering the true spirit of the Season . . . far better than a tin of cookies ever could.
