Long Island, NY - Austin & Williams (Hauppauge, NY), a leading New York strategic advertising and marketing agency, has announced the appointment of John M. Leary as Senior Art Director. John brings over a decade of experience and a broad skill set in interactive media, graphic design and related creative services.
Prior to joining Austin & Williams, John served with the Millennium Communications Inc. (Syosset, NY), advancing through the ranks from Graphic Designer to Associate Creative Director. In this position, he assumed a key strategic role in creative development, working with Fortune 500 companies such as AOL, ADT, Altria, American Greetings, Cendant, Chase, George Weston Bakeries, Kraft, PepsiCo and others, to develop extremely successful campaigns.
His tenure with the agency was marked by many achievements, including the development of an interactive NYC building evacuation guide, an online Security Advisor Too, and dozens of engaging web sites and online promotions for some of America's leading product brands.
John also was a Media Specialist with VCG2 Inc (Princeton, NJ) where he was involved in web, print and multimedia design, and the research of emerging technologies.
John graduated Magna Cum Laude from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus (Brookville, NY) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mixed Media. His technical skills extend to broad graphic, web, video, sound and interactive development applications.
John's work has been awarded and recognized by the industry. "Chapel," his vector illustration, was published and professionally acknowledged in "Digital Publishing To Go" authored by Jason I. Miletsky. Also to his credit are multiple "Best of Long Island" (BOLI) awards by the Long Island Advertising Club.
John resides with his wife, Suzanne Deffree, in East Northport, NY.
