Jessica Franklin recently joined Austin & Williams as an intern in the award-winning agency's studio. A recent graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design, Jessica is part of the creative team that collectively brings their talents to a variety of financial service, healthcare and higher education accounts.
Jessica, who was born and raised in Ohio, was offered in the internship following a college-required professional review of her portfolio by Creative Director Rick Chiorando.
"Within minutes, it was clear that Jessica has what it takes to be a designer in this business," he says. "Our agency continuously looks to help young talent – there's always at least one intern here at any given time – and we were thrilled when Jessica agreed to become one of them."
So what brings a small-town girl from Ohio to an agency headquartered in Long Island, New York? Our office in Florence, Italy, of course.
"I was researching agencies online to contact for my portfolio review," Jessica explains. "When I saw the quality of work that Austin & Williams does and that they have an office in Florence – which is where I'd really like to live – I just had to contact them. For now, Jessica lives in Rocky Point, Long Island, but has already traveled across the country performing as a marimba player in two bands and to Mexico and the Bahamas playing lead steel drum in another ensemble.
