I'm not really a "gadget guy" and I'm surely not one to rush off and buy the new cool thing unless I actually have a use for it, so my decision to to a Droid was a practical matter... So, I downloaded a bunch of apps and found that suddenly, I'm a geek again... Here's my fifteen favorite must have Droid apps.
On the evening of July 11, 2010 at approximately 7:45 p.m., my personal thoughts were as follows:
"Oh s#@%!." "Why did this happen?" "If only I had been more careful!" "How could I do this?" "I'm so sorry!"
Sounds pretty bad, right?
Well, I didn't hit anyone with my car. I didn't accidentally drop a baby on its head. I didn't cause anyone physical harm as a result of my actions.
What did I do? I accidentally dropped my husband's new iPhone 4G - and it broke! As it went crashing to the ground, I thought to myself, "Oh my God, he's going to be devastated! He MUST love me enough to not hate me for this!"
In my experience (and let's face it, it's a little tainted), most people curse while on the job; some more than others. Moreover, there appears to be a general acceptance of this type of behavior: it's no longer considered offensive, demeaning or unexpected. It comes with the territory and modern media has made it a part of our main stream culture.
In fact, a recent study suggests that swearing in the workplace may have some benefits. According to researchers, it allows people a way to express their feelings and frustration, as cursing is a mechanism for relieving stress.
On Friday, June 25, Austin & Williams participated in Take Your Dog to Work Day. While our office is dog-friendly, it’s rare that more than one or two of our furry friends are in the building, so having nine dogs there at once was quite a treat! (Ten dogs if you count Snoopy.)

A&W Art Director Nathan King is on vacation, returning to work this Thursday. We know he'll be terribly disappointed if upon his return his desk and belongings are exactly as he left them.
